Here’s some great news. From January 8th through Jan. 11th in Las Vegas you can attend AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. I was doing a little bit of research on this conference and thought I would share a quote from their website. Here’s my favorite: “Why Attend: It’s Business. There’s no doubt about it – the adult industry is near recession proof. The AVN Adult Entertainment Expo 2009 is THE event to see the latest and greatest in the industry, not to mention gauge consumer response. See what’s going to sell and negotiate the best deal!”

Wow! Isn’t that comforting? They brought in 12 billion dollars in 2007.
I guess Larry Flint and Joe Francis idea of asking for 5 billion dollars in federal bailout truly was needed. Their industry only made 12 billion rather than 13 billion dollars. I am not sure how they can survive making that kind of money.
Finally today I was thinking they should let me write their “Why Attend” advertisement. Tell me what you think of my version.
“Why Attend: It’s Business. Come learn how you can help addicted people continue to destroy their lives. They may have lost their jobs and their families so let’s help them find comfort in their addiction. We can make sure they lose everything else they used to hold dear. So please join us and learn how you can contribute to society’s problems.”
The greatest way for evil to succeed is for good men (and women) to do nothing.
